H. E. Betty Maser

Helen Elizabeth Maser
Betty Maser, was born in Niles, Michigan on October 28, 1922 to Lester and Fern Flick. She passed away peacefully on the morning of November 11, 2017 at Nordic Woods Adult Family Home.

Betty’s family traveled over the next few years from Indiana, to Scobey and then Kalispell, Montana. It was there where she accepted the Lord as her Savior and served Him all the rest of her days. They moved to Chelan, Washington, where she graduated from High School. She attended Northwest Bible Institute and graduated in 1943. At NBI she met Dan Maser and they were married August 16, 1941 at Bethany Temple in Everett, Washington. They both felt called to serve as missionaries to Latin America but that journey took a little longer. They pastored in Enumclaw, Waterville, and Spokane Valley where they started the Spokane Valley A/G from brick upon brick. Sensing it was now or never, they itinerated and went to Cuba for their first term. They also served as missionaries in Honduras, Venezuela and Canary Islands of Spain. Betty received her Ministerial License in 1960 from the Northwest District. After Dan passed, she continued to minister in the independent facility where she lived. Her responsibility was to lead the Sunday evening Vesper Service every other Sunday. She was responsible to contact and book Pastors and speakers. Needless to say they were getting treated to a variety of A/G speakers! If someone didn’t show up, Betty filled in even at the last minute. Betty lived a very full life sharing how to know and follow Jesus in ministry of music and spoken word.

Thank you for all who opened their churches, homes, and hearts to support my parents during their missionary journeys. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, son Larry, both parents, and her sister Kay Flack. She is survived by her daughter, Janet and son-in-law Andrew Shetley of Bothell, sisters Joanne Stafford-Greene of Burlington and Bonnie Parker of Chewelah, Washington. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There was a committal service at Chapel of the Resurrection, Cedar Park Church in Bothell, WA on Friday November 17th. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 8th at 2 PM at Calvary Christian Assembly located at 6801 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115.
